The marriage between the 51st Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Eniitan Ogunwusi and Prophetess Morenike Naomi Silekunola came to an unceremonious end on Thursday.
The former queen announced the separation from the Ooni on Thursday, December 23, 2021.
While some were shocked that the announcement by Prophetess Naomi Silekunola, others have been wondering why the revered monarch has been recording failed marriages for some time now

1. Adebukola Bombata
Ooni Ogunwusi’s first wife was Adebukola Bombata. She was still with the Ooni before his accession to the throne.
However, the duo parted ways in 2015 after the coronation of the Ooni. It was gathered that Bombata relocated to the United Kingdom after she separated from the monarch.
According to reports, the Ooni’s first wife was against his decision to become a king
Bombata and the Ooni were married for seven years.
2. Zaynab Otiti Obanor
Formerly known as Zaynab Otiti, she married the Ooni of Ife after he settled
as the King of one of the most respected kingdoms in Nigeria.
The King married Zaynab Otiti from the ancient city of Benin in 2016 and she is popularly known as Olori Wuraola.
Months after, rumours of cracks in the marriage filtered in.
Olori Wuraola officially filed for divorce from the monarch in 2017.
The divorce was finalised in the same year.
It is not clear if Ooni and Zaynab Otiti had any children together.
3. Prophetess Morenike Naomi Oluwaseyi
Ooni Ogunwusi found love again after his second marriage collapsed in 2016.

In 2018, the 51st Ooni of Ife married his prophetess bride.
There were several comments on social media about their union because of Naomi’s religious faith.
The couple welcomed their first son, Tadenikawo, together in 2020.
On December 23, 2021 and to the shock of many, the former Queen, announced the separation from the monarch.
In an Instagram post, the queen said she would no longer be regarded as the wife of the Ooni of Ife. “His Majesty has a picture he would love the world to see and perceive him as and another one which is his true self,” Naomi revealed in the statement, and then announced her separation from the king.
“I, at this moment, announce that I shall no longer be referred to as wife to the Ooni of Ife or as queen of Ile-Ife, but as the queen of the people and mother of my adorable prince.”
The Ooni has a daughter from a previous relationship with Omolara Olatubosun. They were, however, not married.
